Nine Candidates Vie To Replace Hillary Schieve as Reno's Next Mayor

The filing period for upcoming non judicial races is now closed, meaning our mayoral race is set with nine in the starting gate.

Jesse Razzo, previously listed as working for a demolition company, got 542 votes in the last Reno mayoral cycle, Burner Greg “Nutt” Nuttle, John Zink who recently posted a video saying the “mayor is back on the campaign trail”, using the slogan “Let’s Make Jackpot Great Again,” retired Sergeant Tim Ross, who is being backed by Jason Guinasso, Jason Soto and Eric Maiss, and another lesser known candidate, Corinthia M. Yancey, whose YanceyforRenoMayor.Com website remains as coming soon, have all filed as underdog Reno mayoral candidates.

The four better known candidates are Kate Marshall from the Democratic side of the ledger, from the right Eddie Lorton, trying yet again to see if he can get over 50% in Reno in a runoff, after failing multiple times, and two centrist type council representatives Kathleen Taylor and Devon Reese, who have voted in very similar pro developer pro development ways during their years on council, which could possibly lead them to spoiling each other’s candidacies.

That’s it. That’s our list of candidates to replace the outgoing Mayor Hillary Schieve who has held the seat for 12 years.
