Faculty No Confidence Vote Concerning UNR Dean of College of Education Gets Over 85 Percent

A document just sent in to us indicates a no confidence vote which concluded yesterday morning has resulted with 85.5% of faculty selecting they had no confidence in UNR's Dean of the College of Education and Human Development, Dr. Donald Easton-Brooks, amid allegations of misconduct, particularly with women, low morale and high turnover.

Previously, we received a correspondence screenshot which indicates "evidence" supported a reported charge against him of "perceived threats and intimidation and / or workplace bullying that occurred between Fall 2023 to Spring 2024."

Eight faculty selected they had confidence, 77 said they didn’t and five abstained from voting.

The letter by UNR's Employee Relations Specialist said that due to "privacy considerations, we are unable to share details about specific actions," but despite this, Easton-Brooks has remained in his leadership position he has held since June 2019, after moving from the University of South Dakota.

The no confidence vote is non binding but its result and the fact that this matter has now been widely covered in media after being alluded to in a UNR subreddit post puts increased pressure on the university.
