Photo of Borgs Held by Two Women with N Word Written Out Circulated on Nevada Yik Yak

Students are writing messages to greek life leadership, including to the president of the Panhellenic Council, and to the Dean of Students at UNR as well as to our channels after a photo circulated on the Nevada Yik Yak with two women side by side with their faces visible holding two Borgs which put together spelled the N word.

Instagram handles were included for the two women in a TikTok but these are no longer active.

Posts about this have been ongoing since yesterday on Yik Yak and TikTok. A borg (Blackout Rage Gallon) is typically a homemade alcoholic drink in a gallon jug, made with vodka, water, flavor enhancers and electrolytes.

Yik Yak is a location-based, anonymous social media app, often described as a local bulletin board for people within a 5-mile radius, which is popular on college campuses.

We will be contacting school officials on Monday about this.
