Court Documents Point to Pre-Planned Fight Before Deadly Shooting of Teenager At South Reno Apartments
Screenshots here of the aftermath of the deadly shooting of a 15-year-old on March 20th are of media assembled on a street corner, police tape after the killing and the arrest unfolding at the South Peak by Vintage apartments on South Meadows Parkway.
Cameron Wadsworth remains listed in county custody facing a first degree murder charge, with a bail hearing set for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. A gofundme which had been started for him alleging self defense and showing him in pictures with his family has been taken down.
As mentioned in multiple social media comments on our initial posts concerning the deadly shooting, court documents now indicate there was a pre-planned fight in front of building M that night between young women with others present, which was then recorded on a shared video in a parking area, before shots could be heard after someone runs by on the nearby sidewalk.
In now available court documents, Wadsworth, who reportedly brought a Shadow Systems MR920 9mm semi‑automatic pistol he had in his possession, says he saw his sister and mom, who had been asked to be there as well, getting beaten up, and then noticing at least one man was present, with in his words “a bunch of males with ski masks,” let off gunshots, several of which can be heard in the recorded video.
Reno police say they found nine shell casings.
Wadsworth’s sister told police she was pepper sprayed.
A man, who was also injured in the shooting, has been listed in stable condition.
