Bidding Begins This Week on Massive Properties Right by Burning Man in Nevada Desert
Bidding is set to start on April 16th on the Concierge Auctions website for a grouped property listed at the Black Rock Desert right by Burning Man for $20 million overall with starting bids expected at over $10 million.
There are also separate bidding sections for its three components, Camp David (with the Great Boiling Spring over 140 acres), Fred’s Field (with flowing springs, views on Granite Peak and stargazing on nearly 400 acres as well as access to fishing, paddle boarding and kayaking) and Sandy J (with geothermal hot springs on about 70 acres) just a mile from Gerlach. Camp David and Sandy J have water rights attached to them.
“Few places on earth occupy a position as scientifically and experientially singular as Camp David—formerly known as the Great Boiling Springs Park,” the website’s description starts out with.
“Set across 144 acres atop one of Nevada's most geothermally active regions, this historic holding encompasses dozens of hot springs and thermal pools, including the legendary Great Boiling Spring itself. The land harbors a living laboratory of global consequence: Thermocrinis jamiesonii, a thermophilic microorganism found nowhere else on the planet, has drawn researchers from leading institutions worldwide—including NASA—lending this desert holding a dimension of genuine scientific rarity. Adjacent holdings expand the canvas further: a 70-acre geothermal parcel with deeded water rights and two natural hot springs, and Fred's Field, a private valley of nearly 400 acres irrigated by fresh flowing spring water, framed by panoramic views of the Buffalo, Selenite, and Granite Peak mountain ranges. Whether envisioned as a destination wellness resort, a research institute, or a geothermal enterprise, the possibilities are as boundless as the horizon…”
What would you envision for these parcels of land if you had the money to buy these?
