A Family Tradition: Sisters Run Bubble Tea Stations from Midtown to Carson City
Family know how runs deep at the Bubble Tea Corner in Carson City and the Bubble Tea Station Cafe in Midtown. In January of 2022, sisters Precious Cortes and AJ Reyes opened up Bubble Tea Corner in Carson City together.
Reyes then took over the reins as the new owner of Bubble Tea Station Midtown, which has been around for over ten years, previously owned by their father.
Their dad still oversees a boba stand located in Meadowood Mall in Reno, and their brother and sister-in-law also run a boba shop.
“We’re all linked because we’re family, but we are definitely our own entities because we are our own identity,” said Cortes.
Bubble Tea Corner reflects the sisters’ personality, bringing their own type of flair with cute decorations and a cozy vibe also offering an instant ramen station for families and friends to enjoy.
In contrast, Bubble Tea Station Cafe has a more grab-and-go type feel with a walk-up window for those walking around the area wanting a boba drink, with outdoor seating offering a place for the community to sit and hangout.
“When you’re kids and you talk about living together and having something together, and it actually coming true is a dream come true,” said Reyes
“We always wanted to open some sort of shop together as sisters, but we thought about all the customers that would go to Reno at the boba shop at Meadowood Mall who would come from Carson City, Dayton, and all the other surrounding cities and how they don’t have any boba shops that cater to them,” added Cortes.
With both locations making an impact on their communities, many customers return back for their favorite drinks, or to try a new combination.
For the future, Cortes and Reyes hope to continue serving the community with their drinks and smiles and continue on expanding what they have built. Whether it is hosting more events in the Carson location, or having live entertainment in Reno, you can always look forward to a great time and a nice drink at hand at these two locations.
