Reno South Meadows Apartment Residents Receive Letter for Worsening Trash Situation
Amid what seems to be an increasingly hazardous situation, a notice residents at the South Peak by Vintage apartments at 1205 S Meadows Parkway just received has a list for “trash disposal requirements,” asking all trash to be placed inside garbage bins, no oversized items being permitted, and no excessive trash.
“If you see the bin is full either wait to leave trash or find another empty bin to dispose,” the letter sent out yesterday indicates.
“Any resident seen dumping excessive trash or not putting their trash inside the bin will be charged a $25 fee, each occurrence.”
The Northern Nevada Public Health District went by the apartments earlier this month amid concerns of large piles of trash there, which seem to not have been resolved.
Management was quoted as saying they were having trash compactor issues.
“They have tiny trash bins and it’s not realistic,” a frustrated local wrote to us today sending this recent photo of the trash pile still accumulating.
“There’s already a mice/rat problem in Reno and it’s getting cold. Do they want tenants to keep trash inside of their homes so that they end up with an infestation? That is their responsibility. People pay rent! I have noticed in recent years the maintenance is horrible at multiple apartments. Not doing work and saying they did after they have said they completed items, lazy office staff, people’s concerns and needs not being taken seriously, etc…this is a Reno problem! Not just South Peak apartments.”
