Driver Sentenced to 20 to 50 Years for 2023 Hit and Run Which Killed Young Teen
Kendall Holcomb from the Washoe County DA’s Office confirmed Jordin Silva-Vallecillo was sentenced to 20 to 50 years for the hit and run crash in the Oddie Boulevard and El Rancho Drive area which killed 15-year-old Jace Theall when he was just a few minutes from home in May 2023.
Seven other people were injured in the Passat Theall was in when it was rear ended by Silva-Vallecillo driving a four-door compact car going possibly faster than 100 mph.
“I would just like to say this is the best outcome we could have expected,” Britnee Rodney wrote Our Town Reno letting us know about the sentencing on Friday which we were able to confirm today.
“Jace is truly missed by his family and the community. Unfortunately this is a tragedy that could have 100% been avoided. People need to be more careful on the roads and pay more attention.. JACE is definitely one of a kind that cannot be replaced, he had such a big heart and was so kind and caring to everyone. We love him and miss him so much. #foreverjacesworld,” she added.
A gofundme had been set up for Theall for his memorial from which these photos came from.
