Mom Pleads for Speedier Justice in Sparks Car Meet Killing of Teenage Son
Macarena Sepulveda is expressing frustration for the legal process not going fast enough in the deadly shooting of her teenage son Felipe Acuna in photo, killed near Greenbrae Drive on June 27, 2025.
“I came to the United States 20 years ago to dedicate my life to my kids,” she wrote Our Town Reno this week.
Fahad Estepa has been in custody since July 10th, on an open murder charge and a second degree kidnapping charge listed with a $500,000 bond.
Jonathan Reyes has been in custody since July 10th as well in connection to the shooting on a $100,000 bond with a charge of harboring/ concealing/ or aiding a felony offender.
“Court has not moved forward as it has been postponed time and time again,” Sepulveda writes.
“My family suffered a great loss as Felipe was such a good kid with so many plans,” she writes. “The next court date is open trial for January 28, Sparks Justice Court at 1:30 p.m. I don’t want people to forget about my son because it has been seven months of suffering and we have not received the justice we deserve. I need the case to pick back up so court can move forward.”
The shooting is reported to have happened during a car meet in a parking lot with a fight breaking out and then shots being fired.
