Man Found Dead In Casino Bathroom Sparks Concern and Questions from Relative
After Our Town Reno contacted the coroner’s office today concerning the death of Lucas Avery, they issued a media release indicating he had been found in a men’s bathroom in the Baldini's Sports Casino and Restaurant on January 12th.
“35-year-old Lucas Avery was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Lucas is believed to be homeless,” the release indicates. “The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation. The Sparks Police Department is handling the law enforcement investigation for this case.“
Previously one of his relatives had written Our Town Reno with allegations that he overdosed and was not found until hours later by security. The manner of death has yet to be officially determined and how he was found was not detailed in the coroner's report either. “By the time he was found, he had already been deceased for 3-4 hours. So he didn't even have a chance to be saved,” the relative alleged of a possible overdose death.
“I guess I am just curious if anyone else has questioned… why someone can be lying in a bathroom stall for four hours,” the relative then asked.
“With Reno and Sparks having such a known drug and homeless issue,” they added, “it seems like there should be reform on casino policies. I have no idea who to reach out to to get this changed. Bathrooms shouldn't go unchecked for four hours.”
