Embattled Local Lawyer Dies by Suicide

Local attorney Lance Clark White has been confirmed dead by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, at the age of 55, with his death recorded on August 21st. It was listed as a "gunshot wound of the head."

White who had been a candidate for family court judge in Washoe County’s Second Judicial District Court before dropping out had been found in contempt of the court he was running for previously twice in recent months, and twice fined $500.

On August 18, the Nevada Supreme Court had handed down an order suspending White from practicing law for six months and one day after multiple grievances against him had been looked into, which was then put on hold given certain conditions.

His website which is still active said he had “practiced as a family court master, a judicial law clerk in the family court of Washoe County, and as a litigator.”
